Paliperidone contains ‘Paliperidone’ that works through the blockade of effects of chemical messengers in the brain, i.e., dopamine and serotonin, thus helping in improving mood, behaviour, and thoughts. It raises the symptoms of the disease and prevents them from coming back.

Applications of Paliperidone

Paliperidone is an antipsychotic medication that is used to treat schizophrenia and manic depression or bipolar disorder. Paliperidone also treats short-term treatment of long-term aggression in people with Alzheimer’s dementia and mentally disabled children. Schizophrenia is a mental disorder in which the patient may feel, hear or see different that are not near them, believe uncertain things, or feel unusually confused or suspicious. Manic depression, also known as bipolar disorder, is a serious mental health condition characterized by intense mood swings, significant shifts in thinking, and frequent changes in mood and behaviour.

Side Effects of Paliperidone

Paliperidone is well-tolerated and generally, it does not cause any side effects in the body. In some cases, it can cause some common side effects such as Dizziness, Injection site reactions (swelling, pain, redness), Abnormal involuntary movements, Nystagmus (involuntary eye movement), Tremors, Sleepiness, etc. These side effects will disappear after some time when you get suited to the medication. Inform your doctor immediately if these side effects do not fade after some time and become worse.
